Joanna Francescut Announces Candidacy for Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters

REDDING, CA — [April 30, 2025] — Joanna Francescut, current Assistant County Clerk and Registrar of Voters for Shasta County, has announced her candidacy for Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters in the upcoming June 2026 Primary Election.

Francescut has served as Assistant Clerk/ROV since 2018 and brings 17 years of experience in election administration. During this time, she has successfully participated in the administration of more than 30 local elections and guided the department through two transitions in the County Clerk position.

“Shasta County deserves experienced and trusted leadership in the elections office,” said Francescut. “I’m committed to this work that I’ve done locally for 17 years and I’m running to bring stability, experience, and integrity to the role at a pivotal time for local elections.”

Francescut is regarded for excellence in elections administration and for her commitment to transparent processes. Her leadership has been a consistent force in maintaining public trust in Shasta County’s elections during times of transition and heightened scrutiny.

A recent poll conducted by the Record Searchlight showed strong early support for Francescut, with 88% of respondents expressing a favorable opinion.
